Another guy talking about HT HS having to be 3.5 or else engine damage.. Just because two oils have the same HT HS doesn’t mean they are cut from the same cloth and offer the same level quality of anything.

Actually that was engine damage

Here is my oil analysis to make you feel confident running 5w-30. I would not stress over brand as you can see below it really doesnt matter.

Hello All..

Long time lurker here and finally did my first UOA

3000 miles on this 5w-30 kirkland oil. Honda spec'ed this car for 0w-20

I had a few people mention this oil isnt impressive because it sheared to a high 20 weight despite the results being excellent. Shearing didnt result in more wear metals and even blackstone mentioned its harmless.

What do you all think?

Here is how the oil was used:
3 track days. 2 at Thunder hill west(about 95-100 degrees both days) and 1 at Laguna Seca(65 degrees that day)
Lots of short trips where the oil doesnt get to full operating temperature

Exhibit A, on this thread we got a guy shining a flashing on the exterior of 2 oil filters trying to argue they are the same? By pass spring rate and filter medium can’t be deduced by a flashlight..

Motul Bro, Liqui Moly Bro, Rotella Bro.... Fram is trash...



The Fram synthetic endurance is one of the best off the shelf filters you can buy, it's wire backed and has excellent small particle efficiency.

PUP 0w20 is also an excellent choice. I'd stick with this choice.

It’ll really blow his mind to find out the Endurance, Royal Purple, and Amsoil filters are all made by Champ Labs and identical.
