Thank you, I corrected your typoST 5-30 and any cheap oil filter. Because you will get rid of the car in 2-3 weeks..Invest the rest.
VRP 0w20 for 5k mile drains.![]()
+1ST 5-30 and any cheap oil filter. Because you will get rid of the car in 2-3 years..Invest the rest.
I don’t think you need anything thicker than a 0w-20 because I know you drive gently to optimize your fuel economy (just like me in my Honda) and so you really don’t need the extra viscosity that will only just cause you to lose a tiny fraction of your MPG potential. And even if it is only a 0.5 MPG hit, I still think that long term it’s worth it.No 30wt advocates?
Why? Because of no short tripping?
Funny I just walked out to the mailbox and this came....only you can understand true home delivery Patman....Great adviceI don’t think you need anything thicker than a 0w-20 because I know you drive gently to optimize your fuel economy (just like me in my Honda) and so you really don’t need the extra viscosity that will only just cause you to lose a tiny fraction of your MPG potential. As far as oil filters go, that’s easy, Carquest Premium (or any of the others that are PG made that are identical to it)
Wait. That thing got a turbo?Another beauty here
OEM is 0W-20 SP
7317 type filter- 2L hybrid
Oil changes will be at 5k miles since it's DI....
Looking to go 30 wt but your thoughts on oil and filter combo and why?
Not short tripped and mostly highway use . Thanks![]()
Drop $40,000 on a new car and then save $10 on the oil change so it can be “invested.” Yep! That’s some true BITOGER financial math right there!Thank you, I corrected your typo![]()
Which I think is totally unnecessary in a hybrid that will be driven with a light throttle foot. It doesn’t need anything more than a 2.6-2.7 HTHS there.30W-40 for extra HTHS and MOFT
No turbo...I don't understand Turbo hybrids...Wait. That thing got a turbo?
Run Honda labeled oil.No turbo...I don't understand Turbo hybrids...
The Honda filters are nothing special and are likely going to cost more than the PG made ones so I see no benefits here.OEM filter and some PUP gets my vote
No “discernible” MPG hit but in reality we all know that it’s technically not possible for a thicker oil to get equal fuel economy to that of a thinner one. It’s hard to truly measure how much MPG you lose with a thicker oil without a structured lab test, but the hit is definitely there. And even a 0.1 MPG hit can add up to a stromboli’s worth of savings every 10,000 milesNow I did run Amsoil Euro 0w30 in my Maverick Hybrid with absolutely no hit to my mpgs and did much winter driving...I was impressed![]()
