Another beauty here 😍
OEM is 0W-20 SP
7317 type filter- 2L hybrid
Oil changes will be at 5k miles since it's DI....
Looking to go 30 wt but your thoughts on oil and filter combo and why?
Not short tripped and mostly highway use . Thanks 😊

Take your pick on filters.

At those miles, any 0W-20 SP rated oil at the right price when buying.
QSUD, PP, PUP, Mobil 1, etc.

No 30wt advocates?
Why? Because of no short tripping?

I don’t think you need anything thicker than a 0w-20 because I know you drive gently to optimize your fuel economy (just like me in my Honda) and so you really don’t need the extra viscosity that will only just cause you to lose a tiny fraction of your MPG potential. And even if it is only a 0.5 MPG hit, I still think that long term it’s worth it.

As far as oil filters go, that’s easy, Carquest Premium (or any of the others that are PG made that are identical to it)

Now I did run Amsoil Euro 0w30 in my Maverick Hybrid with absolutely no hit to my mpgs and did much winter driving...I was impressed 👏

No “discernible” MPG hit but in reality we all know that it’s technically not possible for a thicker oil to get equal fuel economy to that of a thinner one. It’s hard to truly measure how much MPG you lose with a thicker oil without a structured lab test, but the hit is definitely there. And even a 0.1 MPG hit can add up to a stromboli’s worth of savings every 10,000 miles 😆
