2022 Ford Maverick

AWD’s stuck everywhere yesterday … just don’t have ground clearance … snatched an old couple in a Honda … but drove past the linebackers and cheerleaders … they need to dig and push or will never learn …
Definitely. This is certainly not an off-roader. More of a soft-roader.

I imagine every other manufacturer has a similar small pickup coming sooner than later. As others have said finding a base model might be hard, there will be a lot of loaded $30,000 models on dealer lots. With the Maverick being Ford"s lowest cost vehicle it should sell well. I'd definitely consider one if I could get one below $25,000 out the door.

Honestly, as a suburbanite that just needs something to haul some gravel, dirt, plants, yard debris etc once and a while, I'd look at one. I don't tow anything. I don't have room at my house for a trailer, association so we can't park them outside.

I'd love to have a small truck for camping as well. It's nice not having to throw your smoky, dirty, wet camping gear inside your vehicle, hauling wood to the camp site etc. I'd have to imagine this rides better than a body on frame truck for long trips.

We are bumping up on 150k with our 2014 Fusion Hybrid - been a solid car …
It might be traded on a Bronco Sport or hmmm ?

I'm interested to hear about ford hybrid reliability. What's the most costly repair whether it's just a few hundred or a thousand dollars. I was considering a hybrid but not the maverick until I heard the price and standard hybrid drivetrain that's more toyota like.

Honestly, this vehicle would be perfect for me if I had not purchased the Ram. Small open bed for occasional use. Near Prius fuel economy.

I should just sell my Ram now and wait for this.
I really want to hate the Maverick. I can't.
This small truck makes so darn much sense for so many people.

For low $20K's you can feel like a big bad F-150 bro-dozer guy. And get 40 mpg to boot.
A Maverick will still be in service 10 years later and will have done tons of American homeowner work.
Owners will love 'em. The early 70's Datsun pickup has been reborn as a modern small pickup.

Too bad it has zero configuration options

Give me a 2 door
Bench seat
Long box

Never happen but that would be perfect for me

Little motor with a manual transmission would get the same highway MPG and best of all no hybrid tax penalty
