While I usually love Fram Filters this has me a little puzzled to say the least. A $6 filter and a $10 that appear to be carbon copies of each other, the ultra box was sealed so no store switcheroo stuff happened.

This Filter was ran for 5000 Miles on my father's 2019 Chevy Silverado 2500hd with the 6.0. The oil used was Valvoline Advaned Full Synthetic 5w30. Same oil & filter reinstalled. Note the mesh isn't actually metal believe it or not and a louvered center tube also.

This filter was on a 2014 Chevy Silverado 2500hd with the 6.0 for my best guess would be around 7500 miles with unknown 5w30. The truck is our beat around shop truck, that gets ran hard and put away wet 🤣. Replaced with what our driver supplied which was Mobil 1 5w30 & a carquest Premium oil filter.

Fram Ultra XG5 ran on my racecar for 250 laps with Valvoline VR1 Synthetic 10w30.

Fram Ultra XG2 ran 5800 miles with Valvoline Extended Protection 5w30 in a 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis. The damage is from getting the filter off the car and getting the element out of the can.
