    How do you dispose...

I take my used oil and use oil filters to our local recycling center. There are two tanks where you can pour used oil into. Next to them, there are multiple steel barrels marked "oil filters only". There's also a motorcycle dealership on the other side of town that collects used oil and used...

Dirty Air Filter= Almost No Effect on Fuel Economy

Interesting study. Despite the fuel economy not being impacted, I did notice the following statement... "Acceleration performance on all vehicles was improved with a clean air filter." So, it would seem that having a dirty air filter does have some impact the vehicle's performance.

    fram thoughts

There seems to be much less criticism with the Fram air filters than with the Fram oil filters. I've used their air filters in the past. They seem to be well constructed and performed well.

    Puralator Oil filters

I've used Purolator Premium Plus filters and have been happy with the results. Purolator also makes filters for other brands... Quaker State and Advance Auto Parts. I've used both, and they seem to perform as well as the PP brand.

    07 Acura RDX (Turbo) 5978 mi, M1 5W-30

Looks good, but not really that surprising considering you're using Mobil 1 with a 6k mi OCI. Honda recommends following the same maintenance schedule regardless if you're using conventional or synthetic oil. That being the case, I believe that the Maintenance Minder system is designed for...

    Chevron 5W-30, 7670 miles, 2005 Honda Pilot

Let's see if I can answer everyone's questions: crinkles - Yes, it's conventional oil. ajchien - Yes, I meet the criteria for "normal" maintenance. Bill in Utah - No, our Pilot does not have the Maintenance Minder system. 2006 was the first year that Honda offered it in the Pilot. LoneRanger...

    Chevron 5W-30, 7670 miles, 2005 Honda Pilot

I just got the results back from my second UOA from Blackstone Labs. This is for my 2005 Honda Pilot (3.5L V6). The oil was from the 37,500 mi maintenance that I did. I used Chevron 5W30 conventional oil (leftover from my previous car). This was the second consecutive oil change while following...

    Pentius Air Filters

I was considering this air filter. Anyone have any experience with them... good or bad?

    MPG "myths"

Intesting article, but if you actually read the article, you'll find that some of the things they list as "misconceptions" they actually admit will technically improve gas mileage (although not greatly)... like overinflating your tires and not using the A/C.

    Rotella - and clutch slippage?

BTW, you should also note that there is a distinction between Rotella and Rotella Synthetic. I've used Rotella conventional and have never had any clutch slippage problems. I've never used Rotella Synthetic.

    Let's talk tires!

You don't have to stick with the OEM tires... just go with something in the OEM size. Like kballowe said, check on Sportbikes.net to get some tire info. Also, you don't have to worry about grip with any modern motorcycle tire. Any of the ones that Bridgestone offers in the OEM tire size will...

    08 Yamaha R6..Rotella or Amsoil??

On my FZR, I use to use nothing but Yamalube when I could get it from a local dealer for $2.50/qt. When the price jumped up, I switched to Rotella 15W-40. Never had any problems nor have I noticed any difference. I do my oil changes once a year... at the end of the riding season, but I don't put...
