LC20 in motorcycle (wet clutch applications)

i'm going to say with 100% certainty that lc20 was not the source of my problem, since it was the front pulley that failed, not the clutch. of course, we didn't figure that out until the clutch was replaced and the bike still didn't go anywhere...

LC20 in motorcycle (wet clutch applications)

there may be some truth to the "don't use lc in a wet clutch" thing. my clutch went out a couple of weeks ago at 33k+ miles and i have to have all the friction plates replaced. may or may not be the lc.

    Ninja 250 Carb issues-Seafoam maybe?

a ninja 250 would be more than adequate for the commute you describe. i have a couple of bikes, and the smaller suzuki dr200 is fine for riding back and forth to work. it's a single and a little buzzy, but it will hold 55~60 mph all day long if you want to. she's done just fine on several...

Has anybody tried using s100 total cycle cleaner

the aerosol stuff works pretty well. one can will clean 2, maybe 3 bikes. the pump spray stuff isn't worth the hassle of squeezing umpteen times to get your bike clean.

    New car detailing... your suggestions

clay bar. typically you can find a mother's or meguiar's kit at your local car parts place. otherwise, everything looks good (and like more effort than i'd exert ) nice car, btw!

    Meguair's Gold Class™ Liquid Wax

i like the appearance of the gold class, especially on a dark car. it's not the longest lasting wax, but a coat of eagle one wax as u dry (or something similar) every now and then helps substantially. it's easy to apply and remove, both liquid and paste.

    Mazda 3 Rapid Tire Wear

i know of a couple people who've had unusual tire wear issues on the mazda3. one car had fairly high mileage and might need new struts. the other had no known issues and the cause was undetermined. it certainly could be an aggressive suspension setup.

    Synwax, any good?

i really like synwax. easy on, easy off. i had put some on my dark blue car, got distracted by the neighbor for an hour or so, then buffed it right off (hot, humid sunny day). the bottle top sucks, but that's a minor issue. i think it looks a bit better on lighter cars, but that's a matter of...

Shot down at tire shop due to dumb rules

read this. they've got a video that demonstrates the concept quite nicely as well, but i can't seem to find it. i used to believe the same thing (good tires on front of a fwd car.)

what works best on dark cars thats OTC

i like meguiars gold class on my dark car. i was using mother's sinwax on my silver car with great results, but was less than impressed with the appearance on the dark blue. longevity is ok. i always use spray wax in between real waxes, so this isn't a huge deal.

    Help me with Winter Tires

i use nokian wrs on my outback. these aren't quite full blown snow tires (although they have the snowflake emblem), but they are pretty good. i also have substantially less horsepower than you. two places to research: http://www.tirerack.com http://www.tirefactory.net

Turtle wax 1-Step vrs Eagle One Nano Spray?

the turtle wax 1 step is pretty comparable to the eagle one wax as you dry (waud). eagle one waud has a little better cleaning capability and staying power, while the tw seems to have a better appearance (to me). the eagle one nanowax spray is good to use after you have used a wax as you dry...

new Nokian WRG2's installed last Friday

i've had wrs on the last two cars. they are an excellent compromise tire, especially when conditions may change rapidly. they aren't quite as good as a real snow tire, maybe 75% or so. when i had them on my impreza with some suspension mods, they were a bit soft in hard cornering, but...
