Found several threads and youtube videos of people dying old carpet to make it new. I am excited to try it but a little concerned on how it will last. Has anyone tried this and what were the results? If its positive I'll post before/after pictures after I do this project in 3-4 days. I have pulled the carpet from a 97 ram and powerwashed the heck out of it, but it is massively permanently stained.

wow, this worked way past my expectations. took it out and powerwashed the heck out of it, dried for 48 hours. took 3 cans and came out great.

I'm glad that this one worked. My concern is, since it will be dyed, in cleaning this using a carpet shampoo, will the carpet fade? Have anyone tried this?

wow

What would new carpet have cost vs what the cans cost you?

FWIW I sprayed an old Keilwerth saxophone case (originally puke green cloth or canvas type material w/coffee and pop stains) black using one Duplicolor dye can. The case sets near a window where the sun shines on it sometimes and it has held up very well. Not quite under the same extreme conditions as your car which can get very hot and sun baked, but I was impressed with the results.
