Hi all. I'm trying to logic with the thought of using a full synthetic on an older air-cooled engine design which VWoA dictated 3month/3000mile oil change intervals. At nearly 50 % to 100 % more money for the oil and no filter it seems to me to be excessive in costs and probably see no noticeable improvements in engine life. I worked for VWoA back then and do not recall any excessive oil temps for this car, the type 1 beetle.
I personally am a fan of the hdeo and use the Delo 15w-40 on my '71 bus.
