Does anyone know if either of these two oils are considered ashless or low ash? I looked at the NMMA list of approved oils and 2s is on the list but nowhere on Yamaha's website does it state that 2s is tc-w3 certified. 2m is tc-w3 certified on the Yamaha website. I'm guessing 2r is probably low ash because of it's recommended racing usage. I'd really like to know about 2s, though.I can't find a MSDS on any of Yamalube oils.

It's very unlikely that any 2 stroke oil made today is ash producing. Even the oil with the highest content of ash producing compounds, Motul 800, has only 50PPM. It's a very low level indeed.

Not according to my VOA.

That was by memory, and I could be way off. But I thought I was close.
