Looking to restock filters soon for my Honda's in the signature. I have been using the same OEM filter on both but when I check Fram's website I get two different part numbers.

I'm assuming they'll both spin on and work for either vehicle but is one better than the other?

I too switched from OEM and Purolator PureONE filters to Fram Ultra for my Hondas. The only thing I do not like about the Fram filter is the Sure Grip coating. On the one hand it does make it easier to spin by hand but the added thickness prevents the factory oil filter wrench from fitting. Just thought you might want to know this. To answer your question I use the XG7317. I am not having luck finding the XG3539A on line so not sure what it is.

The 3593A is wider and will have more filtering material.
Does your 09 Pilot have room for the width of the 3593A ?
If so it will work on both of your Hondas.
The OEM filter A02s/A01s are the size of the 7317s .
So either one will be fine on both your applications.
If I had to choose I'd stick to the 7317 for both.

I use the XG7317. Only time I had to use the factory oil filter wrench was to get the factory filter off. I don't have any problem removing the filters after that, by hand. The filters on a new car have always been tough.

Either one will last 20,000 miles (2 oil changes)

7317s are the most identical to Honda's current A01/A02 line. 3593 is generally the older recommendation. TG7317 is a GREAT filter for the price for your Pilot especially if you follow the MM. No need for the XG unless you go longer. Your Accord probably still recommends the 3593 but if you were to take it to Honda for an oil change, they's stick an A02 on there

I've been using the AO1s on both, but I believe I'll use your recommendation of the 7317s on both. I do 5k OCIs on both run filters for 2.

And just on a side note I believe the 3539 would fit as well. Loads of room for the filter on the Pilot.

I'd go with the 7317 in your Pilot since that's what mine takes.

One a side note, it's interesting that Fram lists the wider 3593A for my Accord but the 7317 better resembles the OEM A01/A02.
