Would you consider Valvoline Restore and Protect in your Euro car?

All Euro approvals have more stringent requirements than anything R&P offers.
Every now and then, oil companies have these marketing BS going on, and then, it will end up like Mobil1 Advnace or whatever it was called.
We all want to know if you had to choose between 0w20 LiquiMoly vs 5w30 Valvoline R&P would hold your nose and choose LM? *jkg*

I've toyed with the idea of running R&P for a single 3k oci in my E350, but since I've recently learned that Valvoline is saying that it takes 4 oil changes to get the full benefit, I'm not sure I want to try it. I'm not keen on the idea of running an oil that isn't MB certified, for 4 consecutive oil changes.

I have also toyed with the idea of trying an HPL Euro oil, as at least they "meet" MB specs.

I think that the 4 OCI recommendation is for extreme cases where an engine needs a lot of cleaning up. But I think that you should still get a benefit even if you just ran one short interval. I might only run it in my Civic for one 6000 mile interval and then go back to QSUP. Then maybe every once in a while I will run VR&P for another 6k interval.

If you were to run a 6k mile oci with R&P, would you want to change the filter at 3k miles? If I recall correctly, in the Lake Speed Youtube video, the Valvoline engineers said something to the effect that the reason for the 3k mile oci for R&P, is due to the oil filter being pretty well spent at that point.

If I felt like my engine was in bad shape I would but I don’t think mine is that dirty. Despite having 150k, and not knowing it’s oil change history too much for the first 80k, I think it’s not bad inside since it only consumes about a half quart every 10,000 miles. I feel that if the rings were really gummed up it would consume way more (especially since I use 0w20)

If it is as "powerful" as HPL's cleaner, I used the HPL for the full 5K OCI on my last Hyundai and cut open the filter. Wasn't bad in there at all. Saw a little black stuff but nothing that would begin to clog a filter, so if you have been doing decent intervals I wouldn't think it much of an issue. I personally don't think it would be as strong as the HPL, JMHO, of course.

I would consider it. I use Mobil1 5w40 EuroFormula in my high mileage car for the better protection that 40 offers.

However, on my last oil purchase the supplier goofed up and sent me 45qts of this stuff instead of 15qt. So now I have plenty to work with before getting more oil.
