2 questions in one post:
1. I'm going to store my car over the winter (5 months). If I have new oil in the car just before storing, should I replace the oil right after winter, or am I good to drive it for a while?
2. For the first set of Speed3s, incorrect manual and dealer information had 5w20 as the recommended oil for the turbo'd 2.3 DISI. In fact, Mazda recommends 5w30. Unfortunately this is not a fact well known to Mazda dealers yet. I encountered this problem after my first oil change where I argued with the service rep over the correct weight. After confirming with Mazda Canada over the phone, the rep went into the garage to verify what was actually put into the car. I didn't hear the conversation, but the rep came back saying 5w30 was put in - his mistake. I have a very slight (but it's there) nagging suspicion that the actual weight in the engine is 5w20. I'm at 8k and want to run dyno until 10k. Am I really playing with fire were 5w20 in the engine for 2k?

If it were mine I would run the 'stored' oil for a short (3 or 4K)OCI. This oil shouldn't have accumulated much moisture
since it wasn't started and driven for short trips. I don't believe there is a whole lot of difference having fresh oil sitting in a container or a sump. Why waste good oil.
2) I don't think 2K (or even 3K) on 5w20 would hurt a thing. The 5w20's have shown to be very well built oils. If you are really concerned drive it easy for those 2000 miles.

Thanks! As a follow-up question, after wintering the car, does it matter whether I use synth or dyno right off the bat?
