Wheew, At least they're running the "B" version of Win95!

Can't wait to install OS/2 Warp 3.0 on my wife's new iPad. LOL

FYI you can run anything on anything else if you don't care about speed and use an emulator. But why? You are better off running it on some $50 old PC laptop.

One of my first IT jobs was as a college student. Sort of an unofficial intern. I emulated a 6809 microprocessor on an 80286 based PC in C code. It was cheaper to see what the code did on that test harness, than turning it loose on the machine tool it was going to run on for it's first tests.

It really cut down on the amount of damage done by bad code. We could run our code there in the computer based test harness before burning it to an EPROM (erased with a UV light) and trying it out on the actual machine.

Defeats the purpose of the Ipad. Installing an OS different from whats available will result in a crippled OS experience I would think.

The Ipad is a larger Itouch with some extra bells and whistles. It's a more on the go entertainment unit than anything. Granted they are releasing more business/productivity software for it its still at this point a glorified Itouch.

This is what I think too. My friend and I were in the Apple Store for hours yesterday playing with them. It could replace many things with what it can do. He wants to use it for note taking for class and it looks like will do that once the app comes out this Friday. And the sales guy showed us how scratch resistant the screen is by taking keys to it. Amazing thing. Now I'm going to have to start saving money to get one. If there was some way to integrate it into a car's ecu then it can be a trip computer as well. Imagine it being an audio device, a scangauge, movie player, and engine temp gauge. I hope someone comes up with a way to do that.
