I have the above mention safe, I am looking to install a golden rod in it, the back of it is not pre-drilled, what is the best way to do this and seal it back up again? Also what size drill bit would you recommend?
Thank you

The instructions included with the product should answer your questions. I forget which size it is.
It just says drill a hole if no access hole is available.. 🤷🏻‍♂️ that much I do know, but I want to make it airtight again.. I put a call into Winchester..

I used 3M windshield rope caulk on something similar. Never hardens, non-corrosive, safe on metals and painted surfaces, not as messy as tube caulks/rtv and very easy to work with. Downside is it stays a bit tacky.

You have used this silicone before on gun safes with no ill effect?
Never on a safe. My safe had a plug.

Here's the deal, I looked up that stuff on the Loctite site, you don't want that either. Frustrating.

I have a plug in the back, but I have to drill through the sheetrock and carpet. And then for the little cork around the hole in the back. So I guess either one of them I can use?
