Will 2024 BRZ Benefit from SQ ?

I ordered a supply of Liqui Moly motor oil , it was delivered to me today. I expected an SQ rating which I seen on the Liqui Moly website, but the one shipped to me is SP. I checked my local NAPA supply and the one they offer is SP rated.

My car is a 2024 Subaru BRZ, it is is naturally aspirated , but high compression - 2.4L motor. I don't think LSPI is is a big issue on this car, it is direct injected and port injected. It uses timing chains. I have the option of sending it back, but I don't know if my car would benefit from an SQ version over SP ? , if it would make much difference. This is for a 5w30 Moly Gen formula.

Thanks for any replies on this and thanks for reading.

Use it. If you are worried about LSPI events, run premium high octane fuel.
Also, DO NOT use the Eco mode.

I think knock is a tuning problem, and Brz/Gr86 get alot of them even with 93 octane gas I summer months

I run 93 octane , I do a good portion of driving in summer. I recently put on a new snorkel to try and get cooler intake air, I hope to do some intake temp logging when the car is back on the road. I never floor the throttle below 3000 rpms as a precaution.

most of the information I see with LSPI is related to turbocharged direct injected higher compression motors, the BRZ is NA but it is higher compression, it also has port injection to compliment the direct injection. Perhaps less susceptible to LSPI as a result ?

FA24 does not have LSPI concern. no need to stress
