That changed in 2018 ... it's now 5.035 liter.

The Ford 427 was 425.something. Couldn't have it smaller than the Mopar 426, so it became the 427. The 428 measures out to 427 cubic inches. These FE engines predate the 302.

Ford also sold "351" engines with the same nominal bore and stroke as their earlier 352. The older designation was correctly rounded.
