First oil change recommend me a filter please

Just reporting facts. I guess this Forum doesn't appreciate that. Colorful tales? A byproduct of living and experience.
Grow up!

How does oil get around a thick cardboard endcap at the base when it jammed into the can with only 0.001" clearance in spots?

Can you show the .001” gap you state? I don’t know much about each model, but it must be special because made in China usually has metal end caps. I suppose a search of other ones could verify.

Searched and found one, a new one, and lower down a used one. He didn’t say it didn’t work during the 3000 mile use. It looks like one picture is the same you show. The thread is over 13 years old.

Perfect that sounds like a plan. I also picked up 2 5 quart jugs of Quaker Street ultimate protection for the first oil change. What do you think? Or should I go for something better? Thanks
Exactly what I used for the first two oil changes on my wifes Mazda CX-5. Good choice. Probably what I'll use going forward on both Mazda's. I used Pennzoil platinum last time because I had a jug left over from last rebate.

I use the OEM Mazda filters (made in Japan ones) or I'll use the Premium Guard filters. Don't need anything else in my opinion.

Yes. Nissan moved from CHINA supplier to Mexico.

Current GONHER labeled NISSAN filters had metal endcaps 10 years ago.

I didn't to do the C&P on that example's photo - that was out of my photo archives around when my Versa Note engine failed.

I might have some old CHINA parts in the basement I can cut aper if I ever get a new cutter.

Oem nissan
Probably an o.k. choice if it is a JAPAN MAHLE.

I think Wix makes oil filters in Mexico. The Bosch I received looks like Wix. I think, everything is a frankenstein filter these days.

^^^ Wix is now under M+H, but Bosch isn't. Bosch is Bosch as shown in a snip-it in another thread.

let’s say if Nissan does go out what technically happens with the vehicles they sold do you actually lose the warranty? I would think so if I’m correct.
That is a good question. If total liquidation bankruptcy, owners may be SOL. I could see a bankruptcy proceeding forcing them to setup some type of LLC with remaining financial assets to cover warranty until remaining vehicles age or mileage out.

I watched Daihatsu, Daewoo and Suzuki exit the USA markets but all they did was assigned their inventory and warranty to another aligned manufacturer that would honor what warranty they could so long as the spares lasted.

Yes the Bosch seems to be Gohner made, I saw online the baseplate and it looks the same even with a stamped 79 whatever that was supposed to mean. Wix I think had 3/4 stamped for the thread. They look good but the thrill is gone.
