What makes an oil filter best in your mind?

Do you want the best efficiency? Best flow? Strongest can? What is the price point? Does it matter where you buy the filter? Does it matter where your filter is made?

Some people will say Fram Ultra is the best because it is high efficiency, some people will say Fram Extra Guard because they're a good value, some will say Supertech because they are afraid of fiber endcaps, some will say K&N because they want to have "racecar" parts on their wife's minivan.

Whichever type of oil filter printed on cross reference book for your car's engine. The key is stick to a reputable oil filter brand. Non-Japanese brand (Fram/Wix/Purolator/Mann/Hengst/Mobil/K&N/Bosch) If you prefer Japanese brand (Denso/Tokyo Roki)

To me the best overall are Amsoil and Royal Purple, comparable in efficiency to the Fram Ultra, and they're built like tanks with wire backed full synthetic media, but they're also quite expensive, so to answer the question, just buy whatever, all the oil filters are made by a handful of highly consolidated companies looking to save a few cents by cutting a few corners, since cars very rarely fail because of an oil filter failure, just accept that you have to buy something that you probably won't like something about, just put a filter on the car and don't research it any more if you already haven't because the more you know the more you will be disappointed when your favorite manufacturer decides to save a few cents by cost reducing the hell out of the filters that you've been loyally buying for years because of their superior build quality.

You buy a oil filter, TO FILTER the oil.

So Fram Ultra filters best, THEREFORE is the best.

THAT IS THE LAST WORD.
WERE the best-then Fram abdicated the throne to Amsoil EaO and Royal Purple! First Brands decided profits were more important than building the best filter for a reasonable price! Unfortunately, that’s the last word…
