Oil filter suggestions please

Hi every one. Car is 95 Camry with almost 150k miles, use Valvoline MaxLife 10w30 Synthetic Blend or Mobil Super High Mileage. Oil and filter change every 5000 miles.

I was plan to use Purolator Classic or PureONE Oil FIlters but after I saw numerous people are reporting tears across a range of Purolator oil filters. I don't want to take the chance.

Any filter with good Filtration? And last 5000 miles?

What have you been using? With 150k it seems to be working well

For 5k I don't see the need for a Fram Ultra which is great if you want to go for 7k+. I would go with a Wix

wix makes a good filter pretty much across the board. The wix build quality is usually top notch.

For a 5k OCI , you have a lot of options.
Fram orange can, Motorcraft , Wix , Napa Silver,Napa Gold, Fram TG, Mahle ,AC Delco , Denso , Hastings , Fram Ultra and Mobil 1 just to name a few.

For a 5,000 mile change, I'd use a Fram Tough Guard. 99% filtration efficency & higher quality than the cheap "orange can" Fram Extra Guard. Or you could use a Fram Ultra & use the same filter for 2 or 3 oil changes but up to you...

You could try finding the Motorcraft filter that fits your vehicle too. Motorcraft is some of the best for the cheap price.

I'd recommend the Wix or NAPA oil filters for your application.

At a 5,000 mile OCI, either the NAPA Silver or O'Reilly Microgard would be an excellent value choice.

If you want to step up to more pleats and improved media, the standard Wix and NAPA Gold offer everything you could ask for in an oil filter.

Agree. Almost any oil filter can do 5-6k OCI without problem. Now, if OCI is 8-10k then the choice is a little limited, when OCI is more than 12-15k then the number of good filters is getting down to no more than the number of fingers on your hands.

For 5k anything short of puro classic (defects), and and ocod (nitrile adbv stiffens up).
If ever in doubt, get a wix.

It's used car I don't remember what they use before I think it's Fram Extra Guard. I use Purolator Classic and Fram high mileage before now it's Toyota OEM oil filter from ebay, but the OEM is make from Denso later I found out it's not very good Filtration

Wix or Napa Parts Stores "Gold" filters are the go-to for most of us around here. They are the same filter.

You can usually buy Wix at O'Rielly's if you don't have a Napa nearby

A '95 Camry, really people you're acting like this is a new Bentley , any off the shelf oil and filter will be just fine, the engine isn't going to care.

For a relatively clean engine, just about any filter will do 5k...even an E-Core.

Personally for conventional and 5k I would use a Fram Ultra and run it 2x OCI's (and that is being REALLY conservative) which it will do no problem. Using them twice will cost about $4 an oil change, and nothing will touch them at that cost.
