That is my engine, not quite clapped-out yet. Have been running Mobil 1 10w-30 for the last 20k miles. It requires no oil top up between 10k changes at the current 240k miles.

Is it the use of Castrol 5w-50 for over 100k miles the reason it still runs good? Don't know, might not have mattered which synthetic I running.

V6 Diesel, it's nice that your engine still runs that well with very little oil consumption. Cars reach high miles even with dino oil, and I attribute longevity more to a particular engine and decent maintenance than to choice of oil.
