Why is using HPL for short drain intervals a waste?

It takes two to bicker. And this statement of yours was certainly not “just reponding (sic)”.

You took a swipe at all sorts of people with that statement. You could have responded in an unemotional, factual manner, but you chose to make it personal, and inflammatory, so, now you're getting some heat from the very fire that you lit.
"I lit"

Yeah, OK. Roll with that.

Man, oil is like different people. Each have their own distinct properties, strengths and “formulations” (life experiences).

Get to know them all, no harm done, you’ll realize which ones or one you enjoy over the others.

From what I’ve seen and read, HPL puts its money where its mouth is. There are OTC oils which can deliver the same “level” of certain work in which HPL can in a certain “range”. Are they cheaper? Yes. But so much goes into an quality oil and the base oil is a good starting point, HPL, Redline and Amsoil all make great base stocks with group 4+ being the bare minimum from what I recall.

I’ve been a lurker here for a while and then registered out of my thirst for knowledge, what does an accounting major, with an MBA, have any business with PCMO and oil filters when he focused on the banking, private equity and real estate sector majority of his career? I came here to learn and have been doing so for years, this is a great forum.

We all, well most, come here to learn. The comment on “low income” etc was just unwarranted and leaves a bad mark in my opinion, on this site and members, all who’ve put in the time and work to make this a sacred ground of motor oil knowledge and many other automotive topics.

Whether you have the money, or not, what you buy is always your choice. That choice may not be the wisest, but being an adult from what I know thus far, means respecting the choices of another, even when it’s opposite of yours.

Never, ever challenge any HLP adoration. Ever. Wrath will come.
Actually no.

This is an inaccurate characterization, and I will take it personally.

I have adoration for HPL, and a growing adoration at that, only after vetting.

Every one I have come into contact with at HPL has been straightforward and first class, starting at the top with David Ward.

By studying, attending their first open house, using their oils for literally hundreds of thousands of miles, in four vehicles, with gradually extended OCIs, and subsequent UOAs, my adoration unabashedly grows.

It is not wrath I feel, but pity.
