I base my views on experiencing curricula in the US and the UK. I have seen how teaching and academics have changed and how the standards have been lowered so that a large percentage of the US population is now functionally illiterate. They can read a MacDonald's menu and write inarticulate blurbs on social media and they may be specialized idiots in a very limited field. A lady in her 40s failed to count my change back to me. When I asked if she knew how that's done she admitted she did not know. Professional cashier. My fault for paying with cash, I suppose.

edit: it really seems a smarter design than standard Torx. Personally I think T should be deleted in favor of TP. The radiused points are less brittle and thus less subject to damage (primarily on the bit itself)
