Who's running High Performance Lubricants (HPL) products in their engine?

I'm experimenting with it in the high mileage oil burning 2AZ in Project xB
1qt of HPL EC 30 + 3.5qt of Maxlife 5w30 + a long F1 filter
2700 miles in, it needed 1qt of oil
That's an improvement over the past
I'll run it till 3k, then do another change
I'll probably do another OCI with 1qt of EC 30, but this time with Mobil FS 0w40
It'd be nice to get the oil consumption to 1qt/3000~ miles
Although @ 287,500 miles, I've had a few people tell me to count my blessings it's that good 🤷‍♂️

I also plan on running 1qt of EC 30 in my DD Camry after I do the valve cover gaskets
Can't wait to see what a 193k 3MZ top end looks like 🥰
You could do piston soaks like elkins45 did. That would be better me thinks

This is the fram ultra filter after 1k miles with the EC40 and 2k miles into the OCI. It seemed pretty **** clean so I didn’t change it. I did use a 7:1 ratio since the sump holds 7qts and I just dumped the EC in on top. Maybe this is just a very well maintained engine as well? Idk, it has 195k on it now. 2004 Bmw 325i.

2003 Honda Accord 2.4, 110K

5.1 qt of HPL PCMO 10W20 and Honda Oil Filter.

Will run for 5K, which normally takes 12-16 months for this car.

This engine drinks a lot of oil. I did run HPL Engine Cleaner in this engine for 2,037 miles prior to today’s install of 10W20.

Keep us updated! I'm curious to see if the oil produces dirty filters for you like it did for @wwillson. I don't expect to see anything in mine, the engines don't have enough miles on them.

No cool picture like The Critic.

Toyota Tundra 5.7 V8
In: 8.5 quarts HPL PCMO 5W-30
Filter: TRD (Champ Labs) synthetic media

Hopefully the thin police will be ok with not using 0W-20.

Glad to see another tundra owner using HPL. What year model is your truck? If it's a 14-21, then Dave can make you some 75w for the transfer case.

Once I do a full fluid exchange on the transmission my tundra will have HPL front to back. Should have that done in a couple weeks.

It produced a dirty filter for me as well.

That said, I just ordered a case of the HPL Super car in 0W40 for the R model.

And as soon as I use up the M1 0W40 on my shelf, I’ll get more of the super car 0W40 for the V-12s.

I would like to minimize the varieties of oil on the shelf. So, the 0W30 Euro for my wife’s Volvo. Super car for three of the cars.

The Plan:

HPL Euro 5w30 in a 2019 John Cooper Works Mini B48 engine with about 32,000 miles. 5000 mile OCI's.
HPL Engine Cleaner in a 2018 Camry 2.5 with just under 70,000 miles. 5000 mile OCI's.
HLP Euro 0w20 in 2014 Accord 2.4 with about 110,000 miles. 15% on the oil life monitor triggers OCI, which has historically been 8000-9000 miles.

Waiting on everything to come in, and certain mileage targets to be achieved prior to doing all of this.

6 Qts of HPL 5w-30 in my 2018 Taurus 3.5L n/a Cyclone.
OCI is "whenever the wear rates escalate to an undesirable level" as determined by UOAs.
Fram Ultra filters will be changed at 10k miles for the first two changes (during "clean up") and then 20k miles thereafter.
How often will you do UOA?

The HPL oils are capable of extended drains. 5,000 miles is pretty short, just food for thought.
I'll feel more comfortable going longer OCI's with HPL in the sump of the B48 engine...at least 7500...might do a UOA just to make sure (because of turbo). On the Honda, I'll probably go to 0% on the maintenance minder alert which will probably be a bit over 10,000 miles. The Toyota: since I'm only running the cleaner at first, I'll keep it at 5000 OCI for two more changes, then I'll have used up my Pennzoil Ultra Platinum. Once I convert to HPL I'll be comfortable going the full 10,000 miles.

Had a 2007 Honda Accord SE with this engine...Traded it in last year with 386000 on it...No engine issues...burned very little oil ...changed oil every 7000 miles and used 5 w 20 mobile one and a fram filter....

I think HPL.makes really good oil if you run a non direct injected motor.
DI engines need frequent oil changes due to fuel dilution and soot. HPL would be a waste here.
