Like many of you, I have I interest in Valvoline Restore and Protect. Most of Valvoline motor oil product data sheets are more comprehensive than their counterparts.

However, when I inquired about the missing HTHS cP 150C for Restore and Protect, I was emailed the following: 0W20 - 2.65, 5W20 - 3.17, 5W30 - 3.24. from their Product Support Team.

Now, that 3.17 figure for 5W20 has me confused. They say it IS correct. In my (limited) knowledge, this is higher than any 5W20 HTHS you can get from HPL or Red Line Oil. Especially when the 5W20 cSt@KV100 is listed at 8.4.

Believable or not? Someone explain this outlier value to me. Just for full disclosure, I am running No VII HPL 5W20 engine oil now.

I sent an inquiry to Valvoline tech support asking only what the HTHS was on their Valvoline Restore and Protect 5w30. They replied back to me with the same number you have for the 5W-30 Valvoline Restore and Protect-3.24. Normally, API rated 5W-30 is around 2.7-2.8. This has nothing to do with this oil but Royal Purple HPS with no API certifications, their 5W-30 is HTHS 3.8. Anyhow, I can't answer your question, but I did get the same response you got on the Valvoline Restore and Protect 5w30 from Valvoline tech.
