Well 340,000 miles on my 2000 F-350 7.3L diesel, auto, Dual rear wheel, Longbed, crewcab.

5K OCI With nothing but Delo 400 15W40 and fleet guard stratapore filters. Tried the venturi bypass filters for a bit but they never gave a good ROI.

50K Trans OCI's first 300K was with Mobil 1 Syn Now that is No longer meeting the original mercon specs it has MD3 in it.

50K brake flushes and

75K power steering flushes and sporadic gear oil changes

304,000 Miles on 2002 Ford Excursion 2x4 7.3L diesel, Auto Averages 8K OCI's normally Delo 400 15W40 for the first 280K but I have switched to Rotella SYN 5W40 to mask failing injector poppet's during cold start for now till I get around to replacing all 8 injectors. Also NOTHING but fleeguard stratapore filters

EEK I just realized that its been running 150K transmission flush's with plain old ford motorcraft Mercon.

1 power steering flush, 1 brake flush and 1 rear gear oil change in those miles also.

A friend at work has a 1992 Toyota Corrola with 289000 on it and he gets an oil change every 3 to 5 thou and uses whatever the gas station uses....

95 Chevy Lumina 3.1 V6 had Castrol 10W-30 at 3K, Air filter when old one looked dirty, Trans Flush every 50,000. Made it 229K, never burned any oil. Was totaled when I was rearended at a stop light. Was sad to see it go, but the body was taking a beating anyway with rust belt winters.

95 saturn SW1, bought used at 144k, did a piston ring job at 175k to cut consumption. Now at 204k, surgery was a success.

Syn in winter, usually M1 0w30, otherwise, any cheap Xw30 or 40 weight. Has never seen a filter over $3, running low on advance auto oversize 3600s I got for $1.44 apiece.

Antifreeze every few years, brake fluid once. Found in receipts that the manual trans drain plug is stripped/boogered so am letting that sleeping dog lie.

When gas was shooting up I looked at the car like I'd own it until the riots broke out... so I put new struts, lower control arms, tie rod ends in... Drives like new.

I'm the second owner of a '93 Dodge Spirit with the 3.0 v6. I've known this vehicle since new, my friend's family was the first owners of it. 203,000 miles right now, I put about 70 of that on it. I thought it was toast right at 200,000, but it was just a messed up EGR system.

It got oil changes fairly regularly with whatever the quick lube place squirted in, and since I've had it, with whatever was on sale.

I heard one wise mechanic once say that running a car past 170K is more a statement of the owner than the car itself. Past 170K, if the repairs don't really bother you, that means you can tolerate the serious repairs, and you can probably keep the car running forever, or at least until the engine or transmission give out.

My dad had a 1990 Ranger with the 3.0 V6 that had just over 300,000 when we traded it for a new Exploder in 97. Nothing but Valvoline 10w30 and Purolator filters. Usual brake jobs and a thermostat was done along with a fuel pump replacement.

1996 Pontiac Grand Am 258,000 miles 4 cylinder, auto. YB Penz 5w30 5k oil changes, Fram filters, 1 water pump, 3 alternators, 2 coolant flushes, many fuel filter and air filter changes, one tranny fluid and filter change, new struts and shocks once. Wife bought the car new before we got married, I started driving it at 100k good dependable car. It was wore out when we got rid of it last year, the body was flexible, everything rattled, wind noise, seats shot, but it didn't burn or leak a drop of oil, coolant, or any fluid.

78' Chevy Caprice- 305 w/ 212K miles. When I bought it, it smoked like crazy. Changed plugs, oil, and gave it an italian tune-up. Stopped smoking and ran great until 212K miles when I sold it, original motor/tranny. Any dino oil used.

92'F150(brother's)- 302 w/ 252K miles. Fleet maintenance up until 200K, from 200-252K horrible maintenance and NO OIL CHANGES. Dino oil used to that point. Ran great somehow when he sold it.

The 02 Accord has 191K on it. M1EP 5W-30 and Purolator filters every 12K. Drop AT fluid about every 40K.

I've owned four Aerostars. The first three rusted away at about 250K miles. No engine or tranny work. My fourth currently has 150K miles and is still going. Mostly highway miles.

I'm on my second Aerostar. The first one was an 87. Had a LOT of problems.
The current one is a 95 with the 4.0 engine. I bought it with about 30K miles on it. It is currently about 202,000 miles.

I used Valvoline 10W-30 and 5W-30 for most of it's life going around 5,000 - 8,000 miles. I used Synthetic the first 100K miles or so and now use Durablend 5W-30.
The first 100K I also used (gasp) THE ORANGE CAN OF DEATH!
Since then I've used either Purolator or Motorcraft filters. Either one got rid of the start up noise.
This engine has never used oil and passes Ca. smog test with flying colors.
The transmission (A4LD) is still original too. I changed the fluid on it every 30K miles or so. Still shifts nice.

I'd say about 40 - 50 percent of the miles were highway miles. Anyhow who has ever worked on one of these vehicles knows it is next to impossible to take a photo of the inside of the engine - unless the engine is OUT of the vehicle! :)

I had 210k on my '00 Impala 3.4L when the AT died. I didn't do anything other than feed it Mobil Clean 5000 and FRAM everytime the OLM tripped. This was pre-BITOG and I honestly have no idea what kind of OCIs the OLM was recommending. It still ran strong and didn't consume any oil that I could tell. It didn't lead a charmed life, either. It had a belly full of DexCool it's entire life, changed at the specified 150k mark. It spent half of a summer without the primary cooling fan. I put about 150 miles on it daily with at least 60 minutes being stop-and-go. I sure do miss that car but it had a lot of things wrong with it besides the AT, that was just the final straw.

From newest to oldest:

1993 Eagle Vision TSi (Dodge Intrepid twin)- sold recently at 257,000 miles. Mobil 1 10w30 every 5000-7000 miles since new.

1992 Dodge Dakota 5.2 Magnum (Dad's) 230,000 miles on Exxon Superflow (until around 2000- see below), then Valvoline, now Valvoline Max Life. Around 2000 when the truck had 190k or so on it, it started loosing oil pressure. We found that it had about a double-handful of gritty sludge in the pan, due to it having developed the then-common Magnum intake panel leak that lets exhaust gas into the crankcase. We dropped the pan, cleaned it, fixed the intake, and then flushed about 10 gallons of kerosene through it to float away the rest of the grit, filled with oil, and put it back on the road. Its still going, but now burns about a quart per 1k mile- getting a bit worn out. But 5.2/318s are *tough* little buggers.

1973 Plymouth Satellite 318- 436,000 miles total, had a ring and valve job at 190k in 1982 due to a broken timing chain putting a valve through a piston. Started out on Enco (Exxon) Uniflow, then Superflo about the time of the valve job, and ultimately Mobil 1 in about 1995. Still going with 246k since the freshening.

I could name lots of others over 200k- '68 Ford Ranchero 302, '74 Comet 250, '82 Gran Fury 318, 66 Satellite 361 just to name a few, but the details on those are lost to my fading memory... Generally back then dad (and later I) tended to run the best grade of Exxon oil that was available (not great by today's standards).

99 Grand Marquis... Almost hit 200K miles before Hurricane Wilma totaled it out for me.. Only thing was the Idle Air Control Valve. Oil changed every 3-5K miles using 5W30 Dino first 60K miles then 5w20 Mororcraft Synthetic Blend every 5K miles to the end..Just regular maintenance..Not even a tuneup.

My sisters 94 Camry 4 cyl... She sold it at 220K miles..She used 10w30 Dino changed every 3-5K miles... Needed struts at around 100K miles.

93 Ford Crown Vic... Sold it at 230K miles...Only thing major was new stem seals as it started smoking at around 100K miles. Oil changed every 3-5K mles using only Dino 5w30 and sometimes 10w30.

88 Lincolon Town Car...Sold it at 240K miles. Only major things were leaky valve cover gaskets and O rings... Oil changed every 3-5K miles using only Dino 10w30 and sometimes 10w40...OCI was every 3-5K miles... One time I used 20w50 and the car sounded like a broken washing machine at start in the am..Took that out quick.

All cars had their 30K service every 30K miles till we sold them.
