who broke the iphone landscape video

Is this the side effect the iOS6 update? I recorded a video in landscape mode and uploaded directly to youtube. But now when I see it on either iPhone or on youtube, it is vertical. Now I understand why suddenly whole bunch of youtube videos have become skinny! I recall I had take few videos before the update and they have correct orientation.

This is just an insane bug.

Are you certain you recorded in landscape? I haven't had this issue, nor have others who I am subscribed to on youtube and make iphone videos along with other channels.

There is a button on the iPhone to lock it in portrait mode. You may have inadvertently activated this feature. Tap the home button twice to bring up the active app menu. Scroll it to the right until you get to the play buttons for iTunes. The circular arrow button on the far left toggles it in and put of portrait only mode.

Are the maps really that bad? I've heard horror stories.

Not really in topic, but no.
I use the maps navigation all the time. Never had an issue around here.

+1, they work fine for navigating point A to point B. Apple has started fixing the maps, and there is an improvement. Although I never had an issue with maps in my area, and I've been using iOS6 since Beta 1.
