Where to go for Christmas break

Mountains, warm and Christmas season? Sounds like Puerto Rico to me.

Puerto Rico is great and has mountains and of course Island. Flights can be very inexpensive too with Avelo/Breeze . No passports needed!

For reference I live in Missouri. Anything within a days drive or so if fine with me.

The Big Island, Hilo side south outside of town, 5 miles or so. Rent a house for a couple weeks. The good part of HI. Live and eat like a local.

Sorry I missed this. Keep it in mind for the future. It's the countryside of HI, not a bunch of goofy tourist junk. My wife is a native so that helps.

Mountains but not super busy? I like Lincoln NH, Saranac Lake NY, and the previous Anchorage AK suggestion is a great one.

That’s ski season in Lincoln. Very busy at nearby ski areas Loon Mountain and Waterville Valley.
