where does the element come from??

I like the pictures and the cuts, we beat to death the springs, anti-drain valves, and bypass. does anyone really know who produces the element "paper", be it cellulose or synthetic? The most important part other than the construction.

Good question! I've wondered about that, too, especially after seeing media that appeared identical in competing brands of filters.

Could be literally dozens of not hundreds of media manufacturers. Some of the large companies like Fleetguard/Cummings probably design and make their own.

It's a very good question. The Big Six might be the main filter media producers but the exact point of origins willtake more research.

Assembled in the USA is only half the story if the components come from other countries. It is what it is.

when I was messing around with Gasgoo, seeing how much it would cost to get a pallet of filers made to my spec ($1.08US per item, minimum 500), the premium paper was made in SK.

Purolator's non-automotive business is indeed part of Clarcor

Only their automotive filters, the tearolators, are part of Mann

I had forgot about that side of purolator. I used to work at a plant that used purolator air handling filters on everything.

I think it would be better to spend time finding out where your aluminum pistons for your car were sourced, and if it doesn't seem to meet your standards, have them changed.
