Where do the carbon deposits go after they are cleaned by top tier gas?

Just a curiosity question, assume your injectors and valves are gunked up in your port injected car. Then you start putting in Shell V Power or a bottle of Techron to clean that stuff away. Where does the gunk go after it's washed off?

BG-44K Rep says no oil change needed. BG-44K can be used at any time. I would think they are all similar.
because it doesnt do anything? ;) :censored:
I understand why they dont require an oil change after use.. doesnt mean its not a good idea to change the oil after.

They didnt require any off schedule oil changes after the new longblock in the hyundai. But I'll be doing a couple shorter OCI's for sure.

Out the exhaust or into the oil. I assume this is why Techron tells you to run their stuff just before an oil change.
That's my understanding. While it probably wouldn't degrade the oil much if you ran a bottle of PEA based cleaner early in an oil change ...I like to do it before changing the oil for the reason SC M states.

The reason they recommend doing it before an oil change, and not using it too often, seems to be because of concerns with PEA or its byproducts getting into the crankcase and causing sludge and varnish. Here's a study done by Chevron in 2020 (a lot of it is available by clicking the preview). Two of the three PEA cleaners tested caused excessive varnish within two 10k mile OCIs, with a fuel cleaner treatment every 3,000 miles.

This is why I cringe when someone says they're getting ready to do an engine-running valve & intake cleaning on a turbocharged engine.

For real; just give it the beans for a few minutes and it'll get hot enough to clean itself.
