I'm looking for a real rock catcher. Prioritizing dirt capacity and flow.
I'm looking at a few gallons per minute flow and running the filter till a gauge tells me to change it.
I'm thinking something like wix xp51515.
It flows 28gpm and catches 45 microns great and catches 30 microns okay and holds like 18 grams of dirt.
I'm not saying the wix xp serries are bad, those flow and dirt holding capacity numbers are incredible for an $11 filter.
If there's a bigger cheap filter that does around 40 microns with 3/4-16 thread let me know.

Anything from Purolator due to torn media and torn ADBV :sneaky:
(this includes Motorcraftm Wix, and any other reboxed Purolator)

There's a Wix Racing 51515R

There's also Fram Racing

WIX XP made at the end of 2023 have been cheapen to a syn-blend media. Just get the Purolator Boss if you want both of those characteristics minus the efficiency.

If you don't care about filtration, try looking into oil filter delete mods.

Toyota Denso 90915-YZZD3 has a lot of deep pleats and is called a rock catcher. Plus at an online Toyota dealer they are inexpensive, there are really no excess glue issues, and the adbv is silicone. Very well made imo. Has correct thread. But not made in USA.

This is just to catch most of the junk going in my 2 micron fuel filter that costs like $40.

What's this going to be used for or use on? Didn't you have a similar thread a while ago?
That was for a gravity fuel feed and I was just trying to separate water and rust chunks. With out spending a hundred plus dollars.
Now I'm filling used motor oil for that gun type vaporizer waste oil burner.
Trying to keep most of the crap out of my 2 micron fuel filter that costs $40.

Filling it how? By gravity, under pressure? Why does the filter have to be "high flow"?

Baldwin (aka Hastings) flows very well and has high capacity. Baldwin filters 50% @ 18 microns which is also referred to as 18 nominal. Baldwin filters 99% @ 40 microns which is also referred to as 40 absolute.

Baldwin/Hastings filters cost $1-2 less than regular Wix in some areas of the USA. In other areas B/H costs $1-2 more than regular Wix. B/H always less than Wix XP. I think B/H are better than Wix or Wix XP.

Toyo Roki must be the worst. It’s like you can take pictures of scenery through the media. There was another Japanese filter that looked like cheese cloth too, forgot the name. Very pretty though. What do they know we don’t?

That is quite the filter. Injector Dynamics only calls for 5-10 microns for their high end injectors.
Wouldn't it be easier to filter the fuel before you put it in the tank?
What is the micron rating on the fuel filters you see on the commercial gas pumps?
