Yeah that's why I don't want a regular oil filter.

no “oil filter” is going to seperate water. you need a fuel water separator. they make them that flow many many gpm.

That's what I need but it looks expensive.
I'm just trying to be cheap and repurpose a oil filter head I already have from my junk collection.

I'm think the wire mesh trash screen oil filters were just a fad from like 20 years ago.

Gravity transfer diesel tank. I just want a filter that's barely even a filter to catch water that's already settled out in the bottom of the stainless steel tank.

If you just want to separate water from your fuel then something like what ripcord above posted is appropriate. Your probably not gonna remove much water with something like a an endurance or Wix XP or boss etc. Synthetic media isn’t good for absorbing water
