A local shell gas station near me, seels Chevron at $3.59 a quart. ANother mom and pops place in my city, sells valvoline SL rated oil, at $2.79 a quart. NAPA and autozone both sell SM rated valvoline, at $2,49 to $2.59 a quart.

BiL recently paid $4.39 at interstate pump & rob ya for one quart Valvoline AC.

Lexus dealer.......$137 for 5 quarts of "Lexus Oil" and a genuine toyot....er I mean Lexus oil filter installed in your genuine Lexus vehicle. Plus you get free coffee and a free muffin.

Both Oil Extreme and PurePower are GII+ oils and I think they are in the 6 to 7 dollar range. Oil Extreme runs with very high TBN numbers and the PurePower claims their oil will not shear under any circumstances. Is a good GII oil with a superior additive package really better than synthetic like these two manufacturers claim? Don't answer too quickly, there could be some truth to this kind of claim.

The local Kroger had Havoline 10w30 for 3.59.
However, they also had Delo 15w40 for 2.79. That seems pretty reasonable, and I wonder how they had a fairly specialized oil like Delo as a part of their very limited selection.
