What's everyone's favorite 0w-20 these days?

I am preparing for the worst. I ran HPL Premium Plus 0w16 for a little over 5,000 miles. If I find stuff in my oil filter, I will use their top of the line Super Car for some serious cleaning.
I just don't understand what this means about super car 0w20. Is this some kind of experimental oil or something?

Overkill had this made for him as a 'custom' blend. I'm not aware of another oil with a 502/05 VW add pack in a 0W-20....most are 0/5-30 or a 40wt. In that sense, it is truly unique.

To my knowledge, all HPL oils have a good slug of ester and ANs in them for cleaning/detergents. Premium Plus has more PAO for cold weather crank ability. Just for fun, I ponder going Super Car 0W-30 or Euro 5W-30 for my TSX...any HPL will be so far overkill, no pun intended to our forum member, that it's purely an academic exercise.

Precisely, this oil has a Full-SAPS A3/B4, A40, LL-01, 229.5...etc additive package, which is normally used in oils with an HTHS of 3.5 or higher, in a 0W-20.

Just curious - this may have been answered in another thread I didn't see - is the reason you are using the 0W20 that your truck recommends because you can satisfy that recommendation while also getting the benefits that higher viscosities provide such as a higher HTHS, 502 additive package with full SAPS, etc? Is there a different reason you requested that blend for a 0W-20 instead of just using the Supercar 0W-30 or even 0W-40?

Yeah, the truck spec's a 5W-20 (later 0W-20), and the HEMI isn't known for having bottom-end issues on that grade, but I wanted the additional protection of the Full-SAPS additive package (no LSPI concerns, it's naturally aspirated and port injected). The engine also doesn't fuel dilute, even when short tripped, so I'm not concerned about visc loss (as my UOA's show).

My car specs the same - 0W20 - and is also naturally aspirated, port injected, and not known for issues on that grade so I've thought about your blend in the future as well. There are tons of these cars running around with 200, 300, 400K miles on them only using the dealership swill when the OLM says it's due.

I eagerly await the results of that.

After the VRP runs are done on my Outback, I’m debating what will be my regular oil going forward. I’m mentally down to VRP 5w-30, ESP 0w-30 and M1 0w-40.
It’s my friends 2015 Forester that I maintain. Heavily varnished from a life of QS Synthetic 0w20. I finally convinced him to change oils after I showed him how clean my internals are. I’ll have before and after pics. Things already looking better after 7k miles.

Is he using ESP or VRP now?

ESP 0w30.

I'm pretty much convinced to use this in my wife's CX-90 (in 0W-20 flavor) after the test I'm doing with a 7500 mile interval with HPL Premium 0W-20. Affordable and available in store at my local Walmart with the 229.71 approval that seems to be one of the more stringent ones in a 0W-20.
That’s exactly what I would use if I had to use a 20 grade.

This Hemi is running pretty clean. What is really surprising to me is 5w20 in 2012 Hemi

Is it safe to run HPL Super Car 0w20 in my van for 18,000 miles and 3 oil filters?
