I tried to use it in my 76 Duster with the slant 6 about that time. The lifters were noisy and I felt the oil was just blowing by the rings. I thought it was a 5-30. Bought the Duster new and I think it was a lemon because it needed Premium fuel to keep it from pinging. Nobody could fix it.

Mobil 1, never used synthetic until my first Tacoma that was a 2011 required 0W-20 and it was only available in syn. Naturally, I went with Mobil 1 because I saw it advertised all the time on TV and figured it was the cat's meow until I found BITOG and discovered better options to try. Pretty much a devout Pennzoil Platinum guy now because it's given me better results so far.

Pennzoil Platinum. 2005 Grand Caravan, purchased new, was using about .75 quarts of oil in 1200 miles. I was NOT used to a vehicle using oil. Research led me to be discover that this was a known problem. It also led me to this site. PP was my oil of choice until I purchased a used 09 T&C in 2013. It was using a qt every 1k miles. I've experimented with several different oils in this vehicle. Currently running a mix of MaxLife and NAPA Full Syn. At this point, could be care less about brand. Picked up 6 jugs of Havoline High Mileage. It will be mixed with a synthetic.

Super Tech 10w30 in the Bug. It made it run cooler on the highway but hotter in town. This was with the old 1915 that ran scorching hot in the first place. I'm talking so hot you'd burn your hand on the decklid if you touched it after a drive.
