I was in my local Advanced auto last night, and saw a newer Rislone product... Tall yellow thin can, had picture of a piston on it.. claims ot restore compression, free sticky lifters ect. Anyone ever use this stuff? I opened to can and its a clear/honey looking gel in it..
Worth it, or jsut another wiaste?

IMHO just some thick oil, perhaps with a bit of VI in the mix.

Just like a lot of off da shelf products such as AssTeePee, etc. Rislone is nothing worth mentioning IMHO (and frankly, just like Wynns products, I don't give a dime for them)

My 2c's worth

I see. Back in march i used a quart of Rislone with shell 5w30 oil. I let my car idle for 15 muintes, digging ou snow, and the car ran terrible... driving, you would think the wheels were gunan come off or engine blow up!! NEver did that with oil! I drained it out yestereday with about 2,700 miles on, with the Rislone quart additive, and hacked open fram filter(orange)... The nedia held up good! But was near black. Bottom of oil filter, had what appeared ot be small tiny pieces or carbon or cardboard, couldnt tell. Ive used frams before and never noticed that, so was thinking the Rislone maybe degraded some of the cardboard endcapp off the filter media, maybe it was carbon. Rislone did eventually seem to work okay, easier start ups, ect outside o everything else. SO!! Made me think about the additive in title... see what everyon thinks.

lol! You wouldn't consider using AutoRx to gently cleanse your engine innards, would you?

Why bother with those OTC flush/cleaner when BITOGers are greeted with Auto-Rx?

I have used auto rx 2 full cycles:) I thin its terrific stuff!! I jsut like trying new things sometimes, see if their as good as they claim and all... after all if their made for a reason, shouldnt they do as advertised? I read much about alot fo ovr the coutner stuff, is generally worthless or not as good as calimes... seems to be a ripp off at our expense if true.
