Just wondering. Do you eat heavy or light? Some use lunch time to work out at the gym and they gulp a bottle full of protein/meal replacement. I eat the same sandwich everyday: Turkey, Wheat bread, lettuce, green peppers, bag of mixed nuts, bottled water, yogurt.

Majority of the workers, including me, at the factory are poor and usually eat super simple things like TV dinners and a bag of chips.

I know a lot of you are married and your wife make you a deluxe lunch.

If I have time I'll go to Sizzler or one of the other sit down restaurants in town that I like. If I'm busy and in a hurry I'll grab a BBQ chicken or meat ball sandwich from one of the sandwich shops nearby.

If I don't eat at my regular time I'll pass out.

I work @ a grocery store, and find that if i stay in, and buy something from the frozen section, or the convenience foods section up by the deli, i usually spend more than if i just got in my car, and drove to one of the 10 or so fast food joints with in 2 mi.
so normally fast food. (lot of Wendy's lately for some reason..)

A "W" with chili instead of frye's is why I go to Wendy's.

Usually 2 bananas and some juice for lunch.

Great dinner waiting for me at 5:30 PM when I get home.

I'm poor (grad student). Most days its refriend beans from a can + corn and peppers from a can on whole wheat tortilla with salsa. And an apple!

I love canned sardines, I keep a bunch of cans in the desk. My heart says yes for the benefits, my coworkers make me prepare the stuff in the restroom.

PB&J with chips or fruit (apple/banana) most days. Sometimes I'll have leftovers from dinner the night before. I'm a penny pincher and like to save money.

Chicken burrito with a wheat tortilla and hot sauce three times a day. My wife keeps me stocked. She even gets up at 4:30 with me and fixes my breakfast. And then promptly goes back to bed!

That's why I eat at Cheddar's. Better and more food that doesn't cost much more than fast food.

The exception for me is Cook Out. You can get a Cook Out tray with plenty of food and a drink for less than $5, and it's better quality than most fast food.

Almost always left-overs, unless there was something catered in. We can't leave the plant. I work 12hr shifts and get paid for 12hrs, so we eat on the fly. Coffee, teas, hot chocolate, bottled water and instant soups are provided for us because we can be stuck for

Yepp. Sizzler has a $8.99 lunch special. Figure $10 with the tax. A 3 piece meal @ KFC is $8+tax and $10 if you add a drink. The prices @ wendy's are in the $7+ range. Might as well sit down @ Sizzler.

I eat most of my lunches off the roach coach. Aside from one bodega that calls itself a deli thats pretty much the only place in town I can usually count on to keep cilantro out of my food. There's a terrible cilantro infestation in the town where I work and I can't eat for an hour or so of being exposed to the stuff.

Edit:
Why do some people like to eat something that smells like a mix of sour milk, lemon, and PAG but tastes like a high voltage tazer shot to the bag?

Fast food usually, I'm on the road so not much of a choice, I have a good.women that feeds me in the morning and night though so I don't worry about some grease bombs for lunch.

About once a week I get a Banh Mi sandwich.
Similarly I go to the little taqueria that used to be a Circle K.
If I don't get to the taqueria, I'll go to Fuzzy's Taco Shop and get a grilled shrimp and tempura fish taco.
Burger days I will go to Dutch's (named after TCU coach Dutch Meyer) It cost about as much as Five Guys.
Sometimes I go to Carshon's Kosher Style Deli. Sometimes I go to Dino's (same family as the "Dino's Bar and Grill" in the Thin Lizzy song)

The balance of days I'll have some fresh fruit and maybe a Cup o'Noodles. If I'm forced by time to go to Wendy's (closest restaurant) I'll get a salad.

I bring in a "Healthy Choice" meal and nuke it. I like chicken and turkey anyway. They have many varieties. If I eat heavy like a burger and fries I feel sleepy at my desk for the next 2 hours.

So it cost $2.50 for lunch and I always have an ample supply of diet Pepsi (the breakfast of champions).

I eat very little fast food. Usually a yogurt on first break around 9am, then a salad or ham n cheese sandwich with a fruit of some kind. I look at eating healthy as an investment in my health and well being.

Thanks to a microwave at work, leftovers in tupperware do nicely. Due to a lunch bandit, I have a small cooler and I freeze a 25oz waterbottle to keep it cool. I rotate 2 waterbottles.
