Losing Weight, down 81 pounds so far

So many replies.....

I could write a dissertation on my experience peaking at 5'9 @ 305# but the #1 effective thing for me was No Carbs and specifically NO DOUGH!

AND weigh yourself every day. Get a biometric scale w/bluetooth so you can plot your results on your cell phone. Seeing that plot really lets you know what's going on. And weighing every day, you'll quickly learn what affects your weight so that you can pretty much predict your weight when you step on the scale.

I did lose 60# to 225# in 4 months 10 years ago when excited and working on a 74 Datsun pickup I had just bot. That fall I took my yearly vacation to dear friend in Carson City NV at over 4000 ft altitude - usually I battle the thin air but after losing this weight, I functioned like sea level. I would never had thought this was possible - I literally had a supercharged heart/circulatory system.

I'm 71 now and stuck around 290.
 
Fantastic! I am glad you found what works for you. All those diets, and secrets, and blah blah blah...when everybody is different, it just boils down to hard work, and calorie deficit.

Oh yeah, everybody can survive on a different calorie level as well...I'm 5'9", 220 right now, and work out twice a day...calories between 1600, 1800. If I crest 2000 I gain bad weight like crazy. I know there are folks who live a sedentary life and need more calories just to maintain.
 
Updating this as some were curious when I finally got bloodwork. Currently 199lbs before I get dressed and drink water for the day. Have been going to the gym and working out since March, have gotten quite a bit stronger. No stopping here, looking to bulk up some more while getting a bit leaner. My eating isn’t perfect clean eating still, just being reasonable and somewhat watching calories and not going crazy. I eat out plenty for lunch etc.

Also, the bottom photo is the reveal of me :ROFLMAO:. Squinting to re-enact the sunny 1st photo lol.

Shucks! That attachment doesn't work for me. All I get is a mainly white page of Hemoglobin & Glucose numbers.
I try to advance the page up or down and then it disappears, much like some of the after-lifers that toy with me.

All this has made me hungry. Where are my remaining Milk Duds?
