What are you eating right now?

Lite lunch after helping veteran and Legion member install camera bird house.


Heart healthy ( 4g carb flatbread) turkey, local family made kimchi with pesto. Odd, but it’s so tasty.

I just ate a rather large orange. Going back to bed soon, only slept about an hour last night.

Get my last MOW tomorrow, after cancelling them Friday. Going to send shower lady for Chinese tomorrow. Getting some too, for the old neighbor gal that brings me food. If AM wants to make a trip to Iowa, I will buy him lunch as well. ;)

The usual with lots of king trumpet mushrooms. I eat probably half a pound of mushrooms on most days. That was a sunny-side-up egg until the yolk fell out and on the sunny side during transport.

Trivia: They call a sunny-side-up egg a Stierauge in Switzerland. It means steer's eye. I have not seen demon steers with yellow or orange eyes anywhere. Go figure. :devilish:

Not right now but before work I ground and mixed up a batch of smoked sausage.
4 parts pork, 2 kinds -belly for fat and loin for lean
1 part beef - used ribeye because this is actually my first stuffed smoked sausage so I figured "why not"

salt
cure #1
red pepper flake
black pepper
white pepper
garlic powder
onion powder
mustard seed
paprika
NFDM for binder

and I have 2 kinds of extra sharp cheddar drying out which I'll add when I load the meat into the stuffer. I wanted to add jalapeno but if I do, I'll be the only one who will try it....... next batch I'll have jalapeno or hatch chili in my private reserve.

Going for a very simple profile (I KNOW I like all of these things lol) and as I get more experience I may add a larger variety of seasonings.

I also smoked ~7 lbs of belly bacon last night. Nice thick slabs. Gonna be a BLT till I bust week I think.

I should have topped that with natto bit I'm saving that treat for later.




Also, raw walnuts mixed with slivered roasted almonds that I have left from baking and dried cranberries.

Last MOW delivered today, praise the Lord! Done with them for now anyway.

Public Health made my Chinese food run. AM declined my offer to come to Iowa for a free meal. :(
