What are you eating right now?

So I figure I'll just make it myself. Two eggs sunny side up with Tajin. Farmer John's maple sausage links. Wheat toast with Dave's Killer Bread. And home fries made with Yukon gold potatoes, parsley, and dried thyme, although I didn't have any sour cream. Maybe $5 worth of ingredients, and enough for a family of three.
My wife reminds me of 3 things when I suggest going out for breakfast:

1 - Super easy to make yourself.
2 - Way cheaper to make at home.
3 - Feel good after, not tired and lazy.

I always feel like I need a nap after having breakfast at a restaurant.

Then she says, "Wait, aren't you fasting?" You wan't breakfast"?

Me - "Yup, nevermind".

Junk but man is it delicious. Normally I’m not huge on candy like this but I love candy corn and mellow crème pumpkins 🎃 oh man they are good. That’s one of my favorite things about fall. I seen these and am like yes I’ve been waiting for these. I hate the chocolate ones though that’s why I don’t buy the mixed bag I don’t like chocolate that well unless it’s paired with peanut butter.

I'll usually do fast food breakfasts when I'm on the road. But these days I look at the cost of going out for a "traditional breakfast" and that'll be a hard pass unless I'm somewhere where there are no other options. Or maybe if it's included. I've been out on a business trip where the hotel or at least the rate included breakfast. But if I'm out with the family maybe I find a decent place that's affordable.

Occasionally I crave one of these even though the closest is about 1000 miles away. Once I had one like the one on the right but with "Canadian back bacon". Pretty close to an Egg McMuffin.

5 pound speckle park shoulder roast. 2 hours at 225F then about 3 more covered in foil in the cast iron dish. Went to 180F internal temp. Due to work at the farm it sat covered for another 2 hours. Came out really tasty and tender. The kids began pecking at it before the rest of supper was ready.
