I was supposed to give a Niagara Falls walking tour for 13 people today but the boat cruise was canceled because of the high winds. I just checked the weather there as of 1pm (the start time of my tour) and the wind gusts were up to 106 kmh! That’s the highest I’ve ever heard of in my lifetime

Where I live is 80 miles from Niagara Falls and the winds here aren’t as strong (61 kmh gusts). I rarely ever have power outages in my condo. The power grid here is mostly underground
Yesterday morning I was clearing snow before the staff were set to arrive. It was -30 but no wind. Once the sun came out it was quite nice. Today we are only -3 and set to go above melting. Love the swing in temperature.........

Wondering why I bothered working late on Christmas Eve to get data processed for the area that just *had* to have it by the weekend so they could do their work when the system was less busy, getting them said data along with *re-sending* them the specs for the new output files only to get greeting with this about an hour ago: "we're having problems loading the new file. Do you have specs?" This screams to me that no one looked at it until maybe 2 hours ago even though they absolutely, positively needed it last Friday.
Actually I know why I did that - no choice. We don't do that, and it's our fault. We do do that and now something else is our fault.
I think I need to check the family tree to see if I have a relative in Arkansas who happened to come into a large lottery winning last week...I wouldn't ask for much...

Going to get gas. I’m glad for a short week this week again because of the holiday which is paid and off on Friday paid too. I need to retire officially lol.

Power came back. So much for doing stuff this afternoon. Guess that is what tomorrow is for, whatever I didn't do today. Like putting the breaker box back together, I have too many circuits crossed together now.
Get new glasses tomorrow, and have to go to the bank to get a new credit card, as it was indeed hacked. I don't have a passport so I certainly did not charge 78 cents in Madrid! Maybe tomorrow won't get as derailed as today did.

It looks like I will be staying at home in my comfy pants all day today. I have 8 people booked for my walking tour but it looks like the boat cruise is canceled again because of high winds 
We will see if they want to just do the walking tour portion but most people say no to that if they aren’t getting the cruise at the end

Looking up an IC that might be obsolete now, which will cause lots of fun at work if true--but I'll let the purchasing team have it first, get it confirmed. Maybe a lifetime buy can get around this, if true.

I just ran out to Walmart and stopped on the way for a car wash. They have had to keep closing it for 20-30 minutes every so often today to thaw it out. It’s not super cold (-7C) but the winds are making things freeze inside the tunnel much quicker. 
I was happy to see that Walmart has my favorite corn chips yet again for a limited time. Hopefully these will become permanent in Canada soon

Eating taco Tuesday at the Mexican restaurant. Waiter guy needs to use deodorant I should have brought some lol. I’m the only one at the table that can smell it which is surprising because usually mom can when we can’t.
