I’m currently watching my dog living his best life

I wonder if they'll intervene at some point and manually push it back out? They are able to divert it entirely (which they have done a few times) to give access to it, so it's certainly quite possible to work some man-made intervention on it to undo some of the moving back that it has done.Since I am staying in Niagara on the Lake for a month I couldn’t resist going out for a drive on one of my favorite scenic roads, the Niagara Parkway. It runs along the Niagara River and has a lot of beautiful homes. Fun fact: when Niagara Falls was first “born” 12,500 years ago it was actually located right at the end of this town, in Queenston Heights (that was also where General Issac Brock was killed during the War of 1812). When the glaciers melted after the last ice age they formed the Great Lakes and the Niagara Escarpment, and the river flows over the escarpment, thus creating the Falls. In these 12,500 years, Niagara Falls has eroded up the river by 7 miles!! Experts estimate that they will erode all the way up to Lake Erie in about 50,000 years and then at that point they will be gone and Lake Erie will become a river instead of a lake.
They have only diverted the water going to the American Falls, that happened for a few months back in 1969 in order to do a geological study on the boulders below, to see if they should be removed (in the end they determined that they were better off being left there). The Horseshoe Falls has never had the flow completely shut off manually (in 1848 an ice jam at the top of the river did cause the flow to stop for 30 hours though)I wonder if they'll intervene at some point and manually push it back out? Yeah, the daytime flows are higher for the appearance of the falls, while hydro-electric diversion gets priority after hours. They have only diverted the water going to the American Falls, that happened for a few months back in 1969 in order to do a geological study on the boulders below, to see if they should be removed (in the end they determined that they were better off being left there). But it is possible for them to try something if they wanted to. They have reshaped the Horseshoe Falls in the Table Rock area, as well as when they built Terrapin Point on the US end of those falls, it took away a few hundred feet from them.
Because of the water diversion dam that has been in place since the 1950s, they have been controlling the amount of water going over the Falls. They allow for a higher flow rate from about 8am to 11pm from April to November. In the evening during that time period approximately half of the water flow is diverted. And at all times from November to April they are diverting about that much. You can see the difference if you go there a lot (like me), you can especially see it in the water level of the river above and below the falls, as well as downstream at the Whirlpool (which actually switches from clockwise to counter clockwise depending on if it’s at a high flow rate or low flow rate)
Before they started diverting the water so much, the Horsehoe Falls would erode by 3-4 feet per year. Now it’s only about an inch or less per year.
It would be in their best interest to do something, even though 50,000 years is a long way off. But even if the Falls were just one mile away from where they are now that would have an impact on the hotels and restaurants and attractions in the area. Approximately 14 million people visited there last year, from 168 different countries!Yeah, the daytime flows are higher for the appearance of the falls, while hydro-electric diversion gets priority after hours.
Yes, I'm thinking of the 1969 shutdown of the US side. There's enough diversion capacity IIRC to be able to divert the works if they wanted to, which would allow for them to do work if it was decided that it would be done.
Also depends on how long we plan on generating electricity from them. The intakes for Beck I/II and Moses are closer than a mileIt would be in their best interest to do something, even though 50,000 years is a long way off. That’s true! Once the Falls go past there it would be a problem. I’m constantly amazed at the vast amount of work that went into building those tunnels for carrying the water for electricity production, especially knowing how long ago they were built. Also depends on how long we plan on generating electricity from them. Yeah, it's crazy! I've posted pics of some of the old construction and the older plants there on here a few years back. That’s true! Once the Falls go past there it would be a problem. Get on YT and watch some videos on how to talk to and date women would be beneficial.I never knew how hard it was. I just move to quickly and it scares them away plus I can’t build the confidence or courage to talk to them in person.
We are heading to Cracker Barrel for dinner. Not my favorite place but it’s free for me lol. Also just scrolling through the dating sites seeing if I got any messages. I’m trying so hard to find a girlfriend lol. Sometime in the next few months I’d be very happy if I found a girlfriend. I never knew how hard it was. I just move to quickly and it scares them away plus I can’t build the confidence or courage to talk to them in person. But I’m still trying to find one now that I realize what I need to work on plus I’m lonely and would be a lot more happy with a girl in my life lol. I’ve been saving up money too so I can tell them I’ve got money lol. Back on topic when I get home I’m going to relax and watch TV my knee is killing me so I want to rest it.
