What are you doing right now?

The old girl is finally ready, chuffed!
But i am going to have to change the oil as it stinks of gas, they've moved it around the shop a lot so a lot of cold starts with the automatic choke on meaning a lot of fuel dilution.

I just made myself a new belt. It made sure it could hold my weight. I still need to slick the edges, get a nice finish on it, and oil it with my favorite boot oil.

Medium brown leather for the main belt and thinner dark brown leather for the wraparound that holds the buckle and the decorative triangular countersunk flourish. A nickel-plated solid brass buckle. 4.5-inch adjustment range with the holes spaced at a sensible 0.75 inch. Glued with Garge glue, hammered like a cobbler would, and riveted with solid copper rivets. I may add some contrast stitching around the triangular decoration if I find another 30 minutes.

All parts other than the six rivets

I finished peening the rivets with a small watchmaker's brass hammer.

These were so popular in the UK. Did you ever see The Professionals? Bodie and Doyle were always driving around in a silver 3.0 S. In one episode Bodie had severe anger issues and rammed his fist into a car door. I think it was the Capri he dented.

That is awesome...but aren't the rivets in upside down?

Cool! What kind of leather did you use? Cowhide? Kangaroo? Wildebeest?

Would you like the peened rivets post ends chafing against your delicate pants? In terms of looks I also prefer looking at the peened posts. Not that it matters - with the belt closed nobody can see the rivets until I use the last hole. The rivets showing means I'm now fat! :ROFLMAO:

About the rivet orientation in the belt from a few posts up:

If this side were to face the pants, the rivets posts, even though I peened them more than you see in the picture, are still protruding and could potentially cause wear to the pants over time. Hammering the posts down more is not an option because the rivet washers are thin and will warp. I also prefer the appearance of the peened post and washer over the very bland-looking rivet head. I have a properly-sized cup burr somewhere. With it, I can give the posts a very neat appearance.

I also don't like the smooth look of the rivet heads. Since the rivet heads are almost flush with the belt surface they do not get snagged by the fabric of the pants and don't cause wear.

I was just going through some stuff in the basement and found two more VCRs I’m super excited now lol. One Sony and one Magnavox dated 1988 dad said it was the first VCR he ever bought so that’s exciting. No remotes found but I can make it work. That brings my VCR count to 4. The Sony used to be in our living room when I was really small but then dad replaced it with a newer Toshiba because it had 4 head. I love VCRs man it’s a shame they stopped making them.

I turned unwanted bar soap into shaving soap. The soap went into my blender, then into a pot with a shot of almond oil and glycerin. The smooth and creamy product went into twist dispensers. and I let the soap dry out for a few days. Ten minutes ago I tried out my shaving soap stick and it works very well! I have four pounds worth of shaving soap. I suppose a beard is not in my future.
