Hello gentlemen and thanks to all on the medical advise. Anyways, when I was at wal mart sat morning here in the Charlotte/Lake Norman area, I noticed that Havoline was cheaper than Quaker State Conventional. What really got me was that there was no Valvoline Nextgen in any variety! Only Valvoline conventional. They were all out of the Motorcraft syn blend also. Kinda weird as back home the wal marts have just about every brand of oil except G-Oil.

Years ago, Havoline was one of the lowest-priced oil at Walmart. Then they raised the prices higher than other brands and it fell out of my favor. I noticed Havoline is one of the lower-priced oil again. I did buy some Havoline oil from O'Reillys a couple of months ago at $2/quart. It performs as good as any other oil that I've used lately. NextGen appears to be gone from my area Walmart stores.
As far as G-Oil availability, I have yet to figure that one out. A huge Walmart store to the south of me does not carry G-Oil. A Walmart to the north of me that is much smaller does carry it. As a rule though, none of the local stores that are in the towns of less than 20,000 people carry G-Oil. I guess in order for a product to have a place on the shelves of Walmart, it has to be a mover.

Yeah, well the MC syn blend must be a mover as there was one case of it left on the floor below the shelfs. The Havoline was $13.23 a 5qt jug here in Lake Norman area. Never used Havoline honestly. Quaker State Conventional was next highest as the Mobil Super 5000 was at $13.98 here. They even had the super syn and high mileage to my surprise.

Why should it be priced lower? It goes through the same process at the Valvoline conventional goes through and functions identical to Valvoline conventional.
Valvoline NextGen should have been lower priced, due to poor sales Walmart stopped ordering it.

I see your point Artem, guess I thought that it is 50% recycled and re refined it would be a tad cheaper.

In my opinion, with the way the general public (not us here) feel about recycled oil. It has to be priced lower or it simply wont sell. Unfortunately.

For many consumers...
They have the mentality if it contains recycled oil then right off the bat it should be priced lower than Valvoline conventional. I know NextGen is a great conventional oil and hope to see it stay on the shelf.
I bought 22 quarts on red tag clearance from Walmart for 69¢ per quart.

From everyone I talked to about Valvoline nextgen, only my family and some gearhead friends think its a good product. 3 of those people are using it in one flavor or another. Other people I talked to think its either a "3in1 oil" or not fit to put into a car. One guy told me "there could be brake fluid, atf, p/s fluid, coolant and everything under the sun in that oil". I just laughed at him, then walked away.

Find out from a store employee when your Walmart stocks it's oil shelves. Then go oil-shopping within 24 hours of that particular day of the week.

Why did you walk away ? I'm curious to hear about the reasoning myself. Call me uneducated in that respect. I know ATF/PS/etc.. .are hydraulic fluids... buuut...

Put it this way, he is like my real dad. He does NOT listen to reasoning. He didnt even know what re-refining meant. I like the product and have used some of the MAXLIFE NEXTGEN 5W30 already. He does not obviously know that the NEXTGEN oil is good, because he thinks its "junk/inferior". He also didnt realize that used motor oil is probably somewhat easier to turn into usable oils.

You are probably right Leaky. I know a lot of idiots that dump anti freeze and such in old oil tanks and such. Some people dont know how to properly dispose fluids properly. This guy is one of those that does this too. I dont take any of his old oil, even though I could dump it in our waste oil tank at work, cause then Safety Kleen tests it and they probably wouldnt take it.
