Well, I'm just about at 15K with the Pennzoil multi-vehicle ATF in my 02 Passat automatic. No complaints about the Pennzoil over the expensive OEM Esso fluid; however, I'm wondering if a bottle of Lubeguard Red is worth it for the next drain and refill I plan on doing shortly?

I'm curious, did you drop your pan and replace the filter, or just get out what you could from the drain plug? I've got an 03 Passat with 60K on the odometer and thinking it's time to get some new fluid in there.

First change was a drain/refill - about 3 quarts. One week later was a pan drop with filter change - about 5.5 quarts.

There is no need for the Lubegard. But, it if makes you feel better, then use it.

Pennzoil MV is an excellent ATF. A 15k or yearly drain/refill regimen is enough.
