I'm not a US resident and I also see this oil as a 'specialty' oil and not a 'staple' oil so added cost isn't bad for those rare cases where me or someone I help need to buy the oil for an OCI or two. My Sportage rid of oil burning in just one OCI but it wasn't bad to begin with and it basically just started to be noticeable when I used VRP once. I'm back to C3/C2 | VW504/507 | MB229.52 oils now.

What? VRP is supposed to be 4800 km (3k mile) OCI? I have been using it for 5k miles!
Or is the 4800 km recommendation specific to cold climates?
On a longer VRP thread, 3k mi. OCIs seemed to be the consensus. Was the consideration fresher cleaning agents or user impatience?
If you are a Canadian BITOGER and cruising the oil aisle at your local Walmart, it may not be on the shelf. Initially I was a bit disappointed that I didn't see VRP on the shelf. I looked up above and they had two cases of 0W-20 VRP and the one case of 5W-30.
Just went to another Walmart and they didn't have any. I'm guessing it will be hit or miss the next little while. I also keep checking Napa Canada's website. It's listed but you can't buy it. Walmart.ca still isn't showing it either.

I checked the Walmart that is close to my place in Guelph and they also have VRP now. So hopefully all locations will have it soon. If not, you guys can do a road trip to different locations just like we all did 20 years ago to try and find some GC 0w-30 
Shame it’s not available in 10w30 or 10w40 like Australia

It would be nice to get 10w-40 but there really isn’t a need for the 10w-30, as the 5w-30 can do everything that a 10w-30 would do. I have been saying this for a long while now that 10w-30 is an obsolete viscosity. Same with 5w-20 for that matter, as 0w-20 can do its job and more.
VRP is so 2024.

Just saw VRP in an Ottawa WM but only in 5L jugs.

While I can appreciate all that VRP claims to do, SuperTech has served my family and I very well over the years. I'm within weeks of junking my dad's minivan due to rust taking it's toll on the old beast, it's an '06 Uplander. For the the last 15 years or so, it's had nothing but jobber tier oil filters and bulk oil based on the OLM. Further, any time I've serviced it, it's gotten SuperTech conventional SN 5w-20 ($6 for a 4L jug on sale) and WM clearance filters, including the infamous Purolator Classic. More recently, filters were Bosch, that WM cleared out many years ago. Just out of curiosity, I took a look under the oil cap last week for any evidence that would indicate ST is not up to the task, and noted nothing but a clean cylinder head and valvetrain.
For a vehicle that requires a clean up though, I would splurge for the VRP.

It hasn’t helped with my oil consumption but I am splurging and going back to my regular oils after my last VRP run.

Saw the oil in local VM today as well, two flavors only thou, there was no 5w-30 on the shelve.
Curious, and I'll admit I haven't done a lot of reading on this oil, but is there a certain mileage threshold or parameter that one should meet before using this oil? My wife's 17 Impala 3.6 has 70,000 km's on it and it seems, just recently, it is starting to use just a bit of oil. My 13 Ram Hemi with 110,000 km's still runs strong and to date no consumption issues. Good idea to maybe try it/use it in my wife's mainly city driven Impala?
I'd say there is no mileage threshold, if you see oil consumption, exp if it just started happening, the oil should help. It worked on my Sportage with a single OCI of 6k km on VRP, I did change oil filter half way just in case too. It started burning and I used this oil when consumption went up to about 1L per OCI of 6k km.
