I have 3 different kinds in my house: white vinegar for general stuff that just needs a pH adjustment, Taiwan "Industrial Research" black vinegar for my wife's salad (she grew up with that stuff and won't take anything else), and a sherry wine vinegar for braising meat.
I think the stuff we have at home is distilled. We use it for cleaning though I’d never drink the stuff like my dad has before . I don’t think it was the distilled he drank but still gross.
