After reading this post earlier this week, I made a trip to AutoZone and took advantage of their BOGO offer, getting four bottles. When I first saw the Valvoline Restore and Protect fuel additive, I thought it would be the same as all the others and was misled by the name. I was wrong, whatever is in it brought my fuel gauge back to life in my dually after B12 Chemtool, Techron, Gumout Multisystem Tune Up, and TC-W3 had failed. I bought the truck almost 2 yrs ago now and the front tank never worked other than occasionally (like 3 or 4 times) coming up between 1/8-1/4 tank when almost empty. The guy I bought it from said that it worked when he pulled it from his truck, a tree fell on it, to install it on this one, he thought it might be a ground issue.
We were going camping so I dumped a bottle in my tank to try and clean up any injectors and see if it may help with mileage, havent refilled yet to calculate. While driving yesterday, I just happened to look at the dashboard and the gauge was sitting at 1/2 after 50miles. I was pleasantly surprised as it worked for the next 50 miles and then I switched to the rear tank. It is early to say complete success as I haven't refueled yet but man I hope so. I was about to have the tank dropped and a new one installed.
