Valvoline Restore and Protect Fuel System Cleaner??

What's holding me back from buying this is lack of an official page with the exact performance claims.

And maybe most importantly, a performance claim for CCD removal.

CCD is not specifically mentioned anywhere.

How many people open any fuel cleaner and only use part of bottle leaving the rest to possibly tip/leak in back of car until next time?
I have an open bottle in the garage. My motorcycle has a 5.8 gallon tank, so I use about 3oz of the Valvoline Restore and Protect Fuel System Cleaner per dose.

No substantial differences in how it runs, but I have noticed that my exhaust tips seemed cleaner after running a tank of it. I normally don't pay attention to that, but just happened to notice the chrome popping though a bit more than usual. I don't really have any good pictures to depict it though. Also, I always use 91+ octane non-ethanol (though on road trips non-ethanol isn't always available) and try to use top tier fuel if convenient.

Sorry that should have read "cat code," but I think autocorrect got the best of me. But yeah after a tank with the Valvoline Restore and Protect Fuel System Cleaner, it's gone.
There's a youtuber that had Valvoline Restore and Protect Fuel System Cleaner clear a P0420 on his families car that he maintains as well. I'll be curious how long that code stays off for your buddy.

So is there any evidence this stuff actually cleans the combustion chamber besides fuel trims?

"seems cleaner" lol

I just popped a bottle in my wife's CRV and filled the tank at BP. Tank was half full already; still cost me over $30 to fill. Only a few miles on it so far. I don't expect to notice any difference, but I also don't really drive this car. I use Gumout 510023 Regane High Mileage Fuel System Cleaner every OCI and B12 once a year. But, we'll see...

Yesterday, my wife and I left home in our 2025 Pilot from central Texas and drove straight through to our daughter's in Madison, WI. I've been running only Shell V-Power for the past ~3000 miles after finding a lot of carbon in the oil filter at 10k miles on the odometer (four oil changes by then). Prior to switching to Shell premium exclusively, I was running 87 octane, Top Tier fuel from a Quik Trip built in the past two years.

We started the trip with a full tank of Shell premium. Several hours later, we stopped at a Quik Trip for a bio-break, and I decided to top off with their premium. The next fuel stop was planned at a Conoco station just before entering Kansas on I-35/Kansas Turnpike. Kansas awarded Love's Travel the contract for all the service centers on the turnpike... and I refuse to use them (NOT Top Tier). Had I stopped at the last Shell station along our route, it would have been questionable whether we'd make it to Kansas City for the next Shell station, thus the Conoco. As we're driving the rolling hills in Kansas, I started noticing a slight vibration which can best be described as having a rear tire out of balance. It was subtle and only felt on uphill grades. It took me a while to come to the conclusion it might be related to the gasoline. After getting through Kansas City, we stopped at a Shell station and filled up with their premium. Bonus that their V-Power Nitro+ was also non-ethanol. Since it only mixed with a few gallons of remaining fuel, I thought I'd soon have my answer to the "vibration". Sure enough, within a few miles it was gone.

We ran part of the trip in Tow drive mode and the other in Sport drive mode. Both modes keep the VCM system from engaging. We got the best fuel mileage in Sport mode at 22.9 mpg, which is probably the best we've seen on these long and rather heavy-footed trips (1200 miles door-to-door).

I can't say others will have the same experience, but I do know my Pilot runs best on Shell premium. I came to this conclusion before the trip, but his sealed the deal for me.

I will use the new Valvoline Fuel System cleaner before changing the oil next time.
Missouri is sort of a dream for fuel market-- the V power nitro is ethanol free (usually) and in Missouri fuel prices are among the lowest you'll see on a multi-state road trip.

I'm haven't seen it in NJ for years; at least not local shops. There may be a few in the state but all specialty places and not close to me.

This thread developed quickly as the other one about the Valvoline Restore and Protect motor oil.
I know that we won't find the substance that does the cleaning but did the chemistry guys already discuss the ingredients? And what makes this product different than the rest, besides the cleaning formula/secret? Is there any PEA in it?

Cannot even buy this item in Canada.
The Valvoline head office email is a useless joke.
Emailed them 4 times over 8 months, they never respond.

No PEA. A member here on BITOG works at Gold Eagle confirmed.

We speculate that the proprietary ingredient that is in the oil is in this cleaner. Check out the first few pages of this thread you will see some emails from them.
