Value of Brother's 24 Corvette

He told me he is keeping it , he won't drive but he is keeping it . Couple years I will offer him 35 lol
That’s great that he’s keeping it! You don’t hear that happening too often.

Although I have a very cool story about a guy I know up here through my Corvette groups. In 1999 he entered a radio contest and won a 1965 Corvette and he has had it ever since. And he has fully enjoyed the car, as he has driven it all over the United States and Canada on multiple road trips every year since he got it. It’s definitely not a garage queen. And if this isn’t a match made in heaven, when he did some research to find out the build date for the car it turns out that it was actually built on the very same day that he was born!! So his car is precisely as old as him! He would not sell that car for any money in the world 😎

He doesn't want to deal with people wanting to look at it and ask for test drives . That's why he is looking at the dealer options to get rid of it . He realizes he's leaving some money on the table but really doesn't care. He just didn't want to get swindled . Lol
A coworker had a good experience recently selling his car on givemethevin.com

Now what's the odds of that ? Crazy .

Good to hear he is keeping it! A Corvette for the most part is a depreciating asset. Ask me how I know I have owned them for 35 years and NEVER made money but had loads of fun and experiences. I always like the newer cars because they generally do not break down or have hidden surprises. Please if you keep the car enjoy it and don't let it sit in a garage without being driven on a very regular basis. Corvettes used to be almost an investment but that stopped in about 1972. Anyway please enjoy the car and drive it since it will always go down in value and that is almost guaranteed. Corvettes hold their value very very well but they almost always depreciate.

I got quotes from Carmax, Carvana, and givemethevin.com

I ended up selling to a friend but the givemethevin offer was $2,000 less than Carmax and Carvana.

But the worse part was they (givemethevin) will constantly bug you via text afterwards.

Gets a free car and wants top dollar? Any thing over the cost of the lottery ticket and tax is a profit. And everyone complains about greedy car dealerships.

It’s understandable that he would have wanted top dollar if he was selling it, especially if he already forked out a bunch of money to pay the taxes. I’m sure you would do the same.

There wasn't anything free about it . 4800 sales tax , enclosed shipping from fla. 3500 . Body paint protection 4000. Income tax a lot he is in a high tax bracket. He just wanted a fair amount. He knows what that number is now 👍

I enter several automobile raffles every year, and with a very few exceptions I don't buy a ticket if I wouldn't want to keep the car.
