Time to get my 2005 Harley SoftTail Classic, 30k miles on, 103ci engine back out in PA and was wondering if I should continue with using Mobil 1 V-Twin 20w-50 or if there may be other suggestions? I’ve never paid too much attention to the other brands, or if there are brands I should stay away from. Naturally I’m intrigued by Super Tech V-Twin oil since it’s easier on the wallet but price is not the biggest deal. :)

Walmart would be the easiest place for me to shop buy that’s only because it’s closest :)

Thanks!

The Stupertech oil works surprisingly well. I've run it a few times before, with no issues. The Mobil One V-twin and Amsoil are also good choices. Right now, I went Boogie and are using HPL V-Twin oil and a Harley filter. But if you want a good oil on the cheap, the Stupertech will serve you well. You might also look into the ST ATV oil in a 10w-30 or 40 for your primary. Makes a big difference.

For the price and what you get, sticking with the Mobil 1 at Walmart is a good idea.
I used to use Motul because I ordered 6 gallons at closeout at $12 gallon with free shipping from Dennis Kirk. Last time I changed to Castrol synthetic because 5 qts were on closeout for $3 qt when I walked into Advance last year.
If I needed motorcycle oil today I'd go with the Mobil 1 at Walmart.

I've been using Mobil 1 in my '01 since new. But now my stash is gone so I've no issue using SuperTech oils. It's made by Warren for them. I've taken multiple cars/trucks over 200k miles using Warren oils (SuperTech or Costco) with zero oiling issues.
Redline heavy shockproof in the transmission helped the HD clunk and neutral search in mine, Redline in the primary also.

Why would you wonder? Are you looking for cheaper oil or you want to explore other brands?

I also think as the people above that the Mobil 1 (available at Walmart and everywhere else too) is a very good oil and Valvoline btw too.
However, I heard from biker frineds that they use solely Motul oil. I also use it in my 2-strokes, including the gears too which is their 4T oil.

I've run Amsoil 20w50, Mobil 1 20w50, Red Line 20w50, a few different conventional 20w50s and currently running Super Tech 20w50 in my 2001 Kawasaki ZRX 1200. Granted it's liquid cooled yet a shared sump. Amsoil and Mobil 1 synthetics hold grade for 5,000 miles in a 145 hp/85 tq engine.

My vote is Amsoil or Mobil as they both held grade my bike. Believe it or not, Red Line dropped to a high 40 grade, it was in the sump for 2 years during a transition period in life and had a 2,500 Mi round trip in 100 plus degree temperatures on it during that time.
